It’s Just that Good

When I say, “hole-in-the-wall sushi joint with decor that somewhat resembles my backyard shed”, how do you respond? If you’re anything like me, you’ve already started mapping out the fastest route to get there. And you would be making one of the best decisions you’ve made all week.
Natori on St. Marks Place between 1st and 2nd Ave. is just such a hidden treasure: offering creative, fresh sushi that’s so cheap you almost feel guilty when your check arrives…almost. Alright, so maybe I shouldn’t have let my friend peer pressure me into ordering the monkfish liver appetizer special, but hey–I was feeling adventurous at the time…
All in all it was a superb dining experience. So what if they decided it was unnecessary to paint the walls and tack up a few paintings before opening? I’ll take great yellowtail sashimi over a wall-hanging any day.
The best part: we didn’t even have to wait for a table on a Friday night!
