Trader Joe’s – Union Square
I have heard cheers and jeers for Trader Joe’s since their arrival in New York City over a while ago (a year or two). One of my friends has been ecstatic about Trader Joe’s since they recently opened a store in Rego Park, an area of Queens. So it was obvious what I was going to get her for the holiday, a Trader Joe’s gift card. I went to the website and they stated that don’t sell their gift cards online. So off I was to the store.
So on a frenzy Friday night, in between holiday parties, I hauled myself through the hustle of Union Square to the Trader Joe’s in Manhattan. I entered the store and it was packed. I looked at the 12 items or less line and it looked like the line lasted at least 1/2 an hour. So I asked someone that worked there where was the gift cards and that was all that I wanted.
He then asked the guy who was managing the line if I could go on line to only get the gift card, then they let me through. I was in and out of the store in about 3 minutes. I am personally floored by the customer service being that they treated me nicely being a Trader Joe’s newbie, since that was my first time there.
