Chicago: Grand Lux Cafe
What brought me to The Grand Lux Cafe was a light lunch with an old friend. I wanted a light soup or salad since I had breakfast at Orange earlier in the day. I opted for the soup of the day which was Chicken and Mushroom while my friend had a Cafe Burger.
The waiter insisted that we order dessert from the get go because it took a long time to prepare. I was convinced since the people sitting next to us had a Molten Chocolate Cake that seemed as tall as the Sears Tower. It was well worth the wait for the Warm Rustic Apple Pie. It was warm, comfort food that reminded me of home.
So if you want a “luxe” experience for brunch in Chicago, the Grand Lux is the place to go.
