Mermaid Parade Quarter Century Float

So sugary sweet to look at that it might actually make your teeth twinge, Vivi is the place to go for good bubble tea in Chinatown that won’t hurt your wallet. Their bubble-gum pink store front along with their princess-skull logo vividly stands out on Bayard Street; the small tea and snack shop essentially embodies [...]

Avenue Q

Boy was I surprised last week, when my friend calls me and said that she scored tickets for Avenue Q. It was just what the Dr. order after a week of madness and mayhem in Gotham. The play reminded me to stay true to myself despite obstacles that may arise.

Whenever I am with my good friend from high school, I am always amazed as how tasty vegetarian food can be. Last week, I visited Hangawi restaurant near the Empire State building. At first, I was a little hesitant, but the Zen atmosphere and the warm tones helped to ease my mind. I looked [...]

Pay Attention to the Burger Behind the Curtain!

Le Parker Meridien - by all means, a classy place to be; yet this beautiful hotel has a splendid secret hidden amidst the columned and mirrored wonder that is the ground floor entranceway. If you tread the marble floors to the middle of the hall, you will find the Burger Joint nestled quietly behind a [...]

Your inner, or outer, geek will definitely be satisfied by The Compleat Strategist, an excellent gaming store on East 33rd Street. Inside the small but superb establishment are shelves full of role playing games, board [...]

Twinkle Toes

Got a mean hangover? Are your tired feet protesting the blistering abuse of those new summer sandals? Well if you’ve got an hour to kill and any degree of sympathy for your body, you’ll head down to Jeniette’s on 13th between University Place and Broadway. A treat for both your pinky-toes and [...]

Pearl River Mart

by Shop by Subway

If you are looking to get cost effective quality kitchenware, Pearl River Mart is the place to go. I couldn’t believe that there were pans, and bamboo steamers for less than $10. My finds were the bamboo placemats for $2.50 each and a finely decorative serving tray that is also functional.
